JetZero Inc., a company from California, plans to build a new factory in North Carolina for its advanced passenger jet. This move is expected to create more than 14,500 jobs in the region over the next ten years. The company intends to invest $4.7 billion in this factory at Greensboro's airport to produce its Z4 aircraft. This jet has a special blended-wing design that is expected to be 50% more fuel-efficient than current airliners. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in the project and agreed to buy some planes. The project also includes a research facility for composite materials and could receive over $2.35 billion in state and local financial support until the 2060s. JetZero aims to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, with a goal of producing 20 aircraft each month. Initially, the company will focus on a commercial jetliner that can carry about 250 passengers and travel 5,000 nautical miles.
