Asian markets started Friday with lower numbers after Israel attacked Iran. This event has made people more worried about Iran's nuclear program, causing oil prices, including U.S. and Brent crude, to go up a lot. Major stock market indexes in Tokyo (Nikkei 225), Seoul (Kospi), Hong Kong (Hang Seng), Shanghai (Shanghai Composite Index), and Australia (S&P/ASX 200) all went down. Xu Tianchen from The Economist Intelligence believes that even though the Israeli attack creates global risks, Asian markets will likely get better quickly. This is because they are not very involved in the conflict and have stronger ties with areas not affected, such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE. At the same time, U.S. stock indexes went up on Thursday after good news about inflation. This also led to lower government bond yields, suggesting that the Federal Reserve might lower interest rates later this year. However, people are still concerned about how Trump's changing tariffs might affect inflation and if there could be a recession.
