JetZero Inc., a company from California, plans to build a factory in North Carolina for its new passenger jet. This project is expected to create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. The company intends to invest $4.7 billion in a factory at Greensboro's airport to make its Z4 aircraft. This plane has a special blended-wing design that uses up to 50% less fuel than regular airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in this project and agreed to buy planes if certain conditions are met. The project also includes a research center for advanced materials and could receive over $2.35 billion in state and local financial support by the 2060s. JetZero aims to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, with a goal of producing 20 aircraft each month. At first, the company will focus on a commercial jet that can carry about 250 passengers and travel 5,000 nautical miles.
