JetZero, a company from California, has announced plans to build a new factory in North Carolina for its advanced passenger plane. This could create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. The company plans to invest $4.7 billion in the factory at Greensboro airport to make its Z4 plane. This plane has a special wing design that could use up to 50% less fuel than regular planes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in the project and agreed to buy the planes if they are produced. The project also includes a research center for new materials and might get over $2.35 billion in financial help from the state and local government by the 2060s. JetZero hopes to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, making 20 planes every month. At first, the company will focus on a passenger plane with about 250 seats that can fly 5,000 nautical miles.
