JetZero, a company from California, has announced plans to build a new factory in North Carolina for its passenger plane. This project could create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. The company plans to spend $4.7 billion on a factory at Greensboro's airport to make its Z4 plane. This plane has a special wing design that is expected to use up to 50% less fuel than normal airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already put money into this project and have agreed to buy the planes if they work well. The project also includes a research center for new materials and might get over $2.35 billion in help from the state and local government by the 2060s. JetZero hopes to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, aiming to make 20 planes every month. The company will first focus on a commercial plane with about 250 seats that can fly 5,000 nautical miles.
