Officials in the European Union (EU) are trying to stop the U.S. from putting a big tax on goods from Europe. The U.S. President is not happy because Europe sells more to the U.S. than it buys. The EU says that if you include online services, the U.S. sells more to Europe. To change the trade, the EU could buy more gas from the U.S., spend more on defense with U.S. companies, or make the tax on foreign cars lower. But, it is hard to solve problems with European rules about food and taxes. Experts think that if the U.S. adds these taxes, the EU's economy could become 1% smaller next year, and companies might not invest as much money.
