When President Trump talks about trade, it is hard to understand. His team says this is good for him.

Trump says the USA does not need to sign any agreements.

He says he wants fair deals.

He says his team can talk about a deal.

He might add tariffs by himself.

Chad Bown wrote in an email, "It is difficult for me to understand it."

Many people worry about the future. The stock market goes up and down. Businesses wait to hire people. Trump says new jobs are coming.

Trump wants to keep some taxes on things from other countries. He thinks these taxes will make money for the government. But other countries want to stop these taxes in a deal.

Trump said these taxes are good for the country and will make it rich.

This year, the U.S. government got $45.9 billion from taxes on things from other countries. This is more money than last year. This money could get much bigger with new taxes.

To pay back the money and lower taxes, the new taxes needed to make a lot of money each year. This was very hard to do.

The US government says many countries want to talk about trade rules and find things they can agree on.

But leaders from other countries don't know what Trump wants or how a deal can stay good.

Canada's leader met Trump. He said a new deal should stop unfair taxes, like the fentanyl taxes this year.

Carney said, "Some things about it must change."

High taxes on things from China and the US make the talks difficult.

The U.S. and China will talk soon to make things better.

China makes many things. It sells them to other countries. This can be bad for companies in those countries. China does not buy many things. So, other countries buy from China. The U.S. wants to change this. But it puts taxes on things from other countries too.

China is important for trade, Bessent said. What will happen with China?

China says Trump should stop saying bad things and stop taxes to start talking.

The U.S. must talk to China to fix the problem.

On Wednesday, someone asked Trump, "Will you lower the taxes on things from China if we talk?" Trump said, "No."

The president said China was wrong about who wanted to talk. He said China should look at their papers again.

Does Congress need to say yes to deals?

It might not be correct.

Trump put taxes on things from other countries. He did not ask Congress. Some people did not like this. They went to court.

Before, presidents made small trade deals.

Trump wants other countries to change some rules. Then the U.S. will have less taxes on things from other countries.

The House and Senate must say yes to finish the deal. The report said the deal is about trade rules and needs new US laws.

Is it a good deal if Trump just says yes?

If other countries don't agree, Trump can make deals in his country and add taxes on things from other countries.

Trump might not use the new taxes.

Trump often asks for a lot and then changes his mind later, so we will see what happens.
