In a signal archaeological coup, Egyptian antiquaries have unearthed a trio of New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BCE) sepulchres within Luxor's Dra Abu al-Naga necropolis, their hieroglyphic inscriptions offering invaluable prosopographical data concerning their occupants: notably, Baki, an overseer of granaries, and a polymathic official known as "S," whose purview extended from supervising the Temple of Amun to scribal duties; the significantly ravaged third tomb appertained to Amum-em-Ipet, a functionary within the Amun estate, yielding fragmented vestiges of funerary accoutrements and a banquet scene.
