Egyptian archaeologists have found three tombs from the New Kingdom period (1550–1070 B.C.) in the Dra Abu al-Naga area of Luxor. These tombs are decorated with information about the people buried inside. They belonged to important officials, including Baki, who managed grain, and another person called "S," who had several jobs, such as overseeing the Temple of Amun and working as a writer. The third tomb was for Amum-em-Ipet, who worked for the Amun estate. Even though his tomb was mostly damaged, drawings of funeral items and a banquet were discovered. The ministry has released photos of the objects and statues found in the tombs. This discovery comes before the Grand Egyptian Museum fully opens this summer. The museum will display over 100,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts. Sherif Fathi, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, stated that this discovery is a significant scientific and archaeological achievement that will likely boost cultural tourism.
