President Donald Trump began his four-day trip to the Middle East on Tuesday. He met with the leader of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They talked about how the U.S. wants to stop Iran from making nuclear weapons, stop the war in Gaza, keep oil prices low, and other things.
Prince Mohammed was very friendly to Trump when he got off the plane and started his trip in the Middle East.
Afterwards, the two leaders went to a large room at the Riyadh airport. Workers there gave Trump and his helpers traditional Arabic coffee.
The show started before Trump arrived. Saudi planes flew next to his plane as it came near the capital city.
Trump and Prince Mohammed were going to have lunch. Some important business people like Stephen Schwarzman, Larry Fink, and Elon Musk were also invited.
Musk is also in charge of a new department called the Department of Government Efficiency. This department's job is to find and stop waste, cheating, and bad actions in the U.S. government. But some people do not agree with this plan.

What to know about Saudi Arabia and the US working together on nuclear power
Trump is visiting the Middle East while regional crises are happening.
Saudi oil company Aramco made a profit of $26 billion in the first three months of the year. This is a little less than last year.
Later, the crown prince will have a formal dinner for Trump. Trump will also be at a U.S.-Saudi meeting about money on Tuesday.
Saudi Investment Minister Khalid al-Falih said that when Saudi Arabia and America work together, good things usually happen.
Saudi Arabia and other countries in OPEC+ helped President Trump early in his second term by making more oil. Trump thinks cheap energy is important to make things less expensive and stop prices from going up for Americans. The president also said that lower oil prices will help end Russia's war in Ukraine faster.
Saudi Arabia's economy relies a lot on oil. To have enough money, the price of oil needs to be around $96 to $98 for one barrel. We don't know how long the group OPEC+, led by Saudi Arabia, will keep making a lot of oil. On Monday, the price of Brent oil was $64.77 for one barrel.
Jon Alterman, an expert on the Middle East, said that low oil prices make it more difficult for countries in the Gulf to change their economies, but it does not stop them completely.
Trump went to Saudi Arabia first because they promised to invest a lot in the U.S. His first trip outside the U.S. was to Riyadh.
The president will visit three countries: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. In these countries, the Trump family business is building large buildings and places like a tall building in Jeddah, a nice hotel in Dubai, and a golf course with houses in Qatar.
Trump wants to show his way of working with other countries is good. Some people, like Democrats, say his actions, such as putting taxes on goods from other countries and how he deals with the war in Ukraine, are making the US alone and not friends with other countries.
He might announce agreements with three rich countries. These agreements could be about AI, working together more on energy, and maybe selling new weapons to Saudi Arabia. Earlier this month, the government said yes to selling $3.5 billion of missiles for Saudi Arabia's planes.
But when Trump came to the Middle East, his main friends there, Israel and Saudi Arabia, did not fully agree with his plans.
Before the trip, Trump said the U.S. would stop bombing the Houthis in Yemen. He said the Houthis promised to stop attacking ships on an important trade route.
The government did not tell Israel about the plan before Trump told everyone. This was another time Trump did not tell Israel about his talks with countries they both had problems with.
In March, the US government did not tell the Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu about the talks with Hamas until they had already started. Also, Netanyahu only learned about the talks between the US and Iran about nuclear power when President Trump talked about it during a meeting last month.
"Israel will protect itself alone," Netanyahu said last week after Trump said the Houthis would stop fighting. "If others help us, like our American friends, that is good."
William Wechsler said it was surprising that Trump did not visit Israel on his first trip to the Middle East.
Wechsler said the main point from this trip is that the governments in the Gulf are better friends to President Trump than the current government in Israel.
Trump wants to try again to make relations normal between Israel and Saudi Arabia. These are two important countries in the Middle East. Trump's plan, called the Abraham Accords, already helped Sudan, the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco to become friends with Israel.
But Saudi Arabia has said clearly that to be friends with the U.S., they want the U.S. to promise to keep them safe, help them with their nuclear energy plans, and help create a Palestinian country. It is hard to see how a Palestinian country can happen now because of the war between Israel and Hamas, and because Israel is saying they will destroy and control Gaza.
Last week, Prince Mohammed met with the Palestinian Vice President, Hussein Sheikh, in Jeddah. It was the first time Mr. Sheikh had traveled outside his country since he started his job in April.
Hussain Abdul-Hussain said the Saudi prince seemed to be telling Trump that Saudi Arabia needs to see things get better for Palestinians before they can really agree to be friends with Israel.
Abdul-Hussain said that Saudi Arabia often shows what they will do. He said this means they are saying, 'Don't even think about asking us to be nice about becoming friends with Israel.'
