CaaStle is a new company that started in 2011 as a service for plus-sized clothing. In 2018, it changed to help clothing stores sell their unsold items. Now, it has money problems, according to Axios.
The company has very little money, CEO Christine Hunsicker has quit, and the police are looking into claims of money problems, Axios said in a letter from the board.
CaaStle did not reply to the request for a comment right away. TechCrunch saw that CaaStle's job board shows it has no job openings, which is often a bad sign for a new company.
The startup has raised more than $530 million in total, but it last got $43 million in 2019, according to PitchBook. Experts told TechCrunch that 2025 could be a very hard year for startups that fail.
