Five people died when an Amazon cargo plane left the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday.
The plane hit a van.
All five people were in the van.
The van moves plane-cleaning workers, officials said.
The plane hit the van on airport land.
Then it went through a fence.
It hit an SUV on a city street.
Five other people got hurt.
The pilot and co-pilot left the hospital, said Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz.
Her area is Miami-Dade County.
Two people are still in very bad condition.
One more person is in stable condition.
The National Transportation Safety Board is looking into the crash.
One thing they check is a system.
This system slows and stops fast planes at the end of runways.
Miami does not have this system.
120 U.S. airports have light, crushable material.
The Federal Aviation Administration says this material saved about 500 lives.
Experts said Miami follows federal rules.
Miami has a 1,000-foot safety area.
NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy said planes keep leaving runways.
The board suggested putting in these systems.
She said people must use the suggestions.
If not, bad crashes will happen again.
Investigators found the flight data recorder.
They are looking at it now.
They plan to talk to the pilot, co-pilot, and air traffic controllers.
The five dead people worked for Professional Ocean Service Corp.
This company cleans planes.
The company said it will not talk.
It wants to respect the families.
The sheriff named the dead people.
They are Rolando Aleman Leon, 55; Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53; Julio C. Pineda, 75; Carlos Acosta Fajardo, 53; and Javierkys Reyes Quevedo, 47.
The plane was landing after a flight from Puerto Rico.
Storms were coming.
The NTSB said the plane went about 1,300 feet past the runway end.
Strong winds over 25 knots were reported.
Experts said a tail wind may have pushed the plane.
It is not clear why the pilot did not stop the landing.
Two of the airport's four runways stayed closed on Tuesday.
More than 225 flights were canceled on Sunday and Monday.
