Police in Toledo, Ohio, search for suspects. A weekend shooting near the Old West End Festival wounds 12 people. The victims are 14 to 61 years old. All were in stable condition Sunday. No arrests happen. Police do not name any suspects.
The gunfire starts Saturday near the festival. The festival is popular and annual. It is in a historic area with Victorian homes. Videos on social media show people running for cover. Medics treat the wounded near tents and food trucks. Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan says at least two people fired guns. He says they were probably shooting at each other.
Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates says justice will be swift and strong. Toledo police say investigators make progress. They follow many leads. They ask festivalgoers to share photos or videos. These may help.
The rest of the festival is canceled Sunday. Organizers say it is not compassionate. They say it is not responsible. They say it is not possible to continue. Officials say emergency crews have trouble reaching the injured. Closed roads and traffic cause this. But all are taken to hospitals within an hour.
