The AP found that the Trump administration has separated dozens of children from their parents again. This happened even though a court deal was meant to keep families together. Some parents were held in immigration jails, and some were sent back to their home countries.
One child, Ederson Galicia Alva, was taken from his mother twice. He was first separated in 2018 when he was 3 years old. Last week, he and his mother came back to Florida after a judge said the government had acted illegally.
The article says the government is now arresting or deporting parents under its plan for mass deportations. This can leave children in the United States without their parents. Lawyers say this is causing new pain for families who already suffered before.
Ederson and his mother were allowed to return, but their future is still not sure. Other families also face fear, long waits, and more government checks. The AP says the problem is still going on.
