Learning Resources Inc., a toy company from Illinois, has asked the Supreme Court to look at President Trump's tariffs. They argue that he used emergency powers illegally to put these taxes on goods without Congress's approval. Even though they won in a lower court, the tariffs are still in place because an appeals court is looking at a similar case. Learning Resources says the case needs to be heard quickly because the tariffs are really hurting businesses and customers. CEO Rick Woldenberg says the tariffs are causing a lot of uncertainty and making prices go up. The company's lawyers have suggested that the court could decide by June if they will take the case and then hear arguments in the fall. The Trump administration defends the tariffs, saying the emergency powers law allows the president to control imports during national emergencies.
