Elon Musk has resigned from his role as a senior advisor to President Donald Trump. His ambitious plans to reform the government and reduce spending were not fully achieved. During his time, many jobs were lost, government agencies were cut, and legal disagreements arose. Musk's initial goal to cut $2 trillion in spending was first reduced to $1 trillion, and then to only $150 billion. This caused more frustration and tension with other members of Trump's administration. Musk left after he criticized Trump's legislative plans, especially a "massive spending bill" that Musk believes will increase the national debt. Even though he has left, the White House still plans to implement some of the cuts Musk suggested. However, Musk has expressed his disappointment with the federal bureaucracy and plans to reduce his political spending.
