Elon Musk has left his job as a main advisor to President Trump because his big plans to change the government and cut spending did not happen. During his time, there were many job cuts, changes to government agencies, and legal problems. Musk first wanted to cut $2 trillion in spending, but this was reduced to $1 trillion, and then to only $150 billion. This caused more frustration and disagreements with other people in Trump's government. Musk's decision to leave comes after he criticized Trump's new laws, especially a "very large spending bill" that Musk believes will increase the government's debt. Even though he has left, the White House still plans to use some of Musk's ideas for cutting costs. However, Musk is now disappointed with how hard it is to change the government, and he plans to spend less money on politics.
