The US government has stopped making new visa appointments for students from other countries for a short time. This is because they want to check their social media more carefully. This does not affect students who already had an appointment. A message from the Secretary of State says that embassies should not make more appointments until they know how to check social media. This happens after the government started being stricter with international students. They even stopped some students from studying at Harvard and cancelled the visas of many students. The current government is still checking students' social media. If they stop making appointments for too long, it could make it difficult for students to start their courses, and universities might lose money.
