Doctors say at least 10 people in the U.S. got sick from bad food, and the company is taking back some products.

A government group in the U.S., the FDA, said that people from different government levels are looking into why some people got sick. They think it is connected to food made by a company called Fresh & Ready Foods in California. The FDA said 10 people got sick in California and Nevada, and they had to go to the hospital.

The agency said the products were sold in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Washington. You could buy them in many places, like shops, restaurants, hospitals, hotels, small stores, airports, and on airplanes.

If you eat food with listeria, you usually start feeling sick in about two weeks. If you are not very sick, you might have a fever, feel tired, have muscle pain, feel sick in your stomach, throw up, or have diarrhea. If you are more sick, you might have a headache, a stiff neck, feel confused, have trouble standing, or have fits.

Government workers said they started looking into the sicknesses last year, but they didn't have enough proof to find where they came from. They said they started looking again in April because FDA workers found germs in food from Fresh & Ready Foods that were the same as the germs causing the sicknesses.

Fresh & Ready Foods said they quickly fixed the problem by taking away some machines.

The FDA found that 6 out of 10 people who got sick were in the hospital before they got sick with listeria. The FDA also found that food from Fresh & Ready Foods was given in at least three of the hospitals where these people were before.

The CDC said they took test samples from sick people from December 2023 to September 2024.

Fresh & Ready has taken back some of its products. You can find these products by looking at the 'use by' date. The dates are between April 22 and May 19 this year. The products have these names: Fresh & Ready Foods, City Point Market Fresh Food to Go, and Fresh Take Crave Away.
