The voice uses things Musk has really said in interviews.

Filmmaker Alex Gibney said the choice was intentionally ironic.

It references Musk’s idea that we live in a simulation and highlights his shifting views on technology.

Gibney spoke in Venice before the film’s premiere.

He said the goal was to show the “reality of what he’s done and unreality of his narrative.”

The filmmakers consulted lawyers before using the avatar.

Ashley St. Clair appears in the film.

She shares a child with Musk and once worked as a conservative influencer.

She said she refused a $40 million offer to stay silent about their relationship.

She also sued Musk’s AI company over deepfake images of her.

The film runs nearly four hours.

It covers Musk’s childhood, his takeover of X, and his work with the Trump administration.

Gibney said Musk tweaked Twitter’s algorithm to prioritize hate.

He called Musk “extremely” dangerous to democracy.

The film raises alarms about data gathered on U.S. citizens.

It will be released in theaters in October.
