Lawyers for the NCAA case want to change the rules for teams. Some players can play even if there are limits.
Lawyers said schools should make a list of students who cannot play sports.
These students can try to play for the team again. Maybe they will get a place, maybe not. Or they can go to a different school.
These players will not be part of the new team rules.
Also, students who finished high school could use this rule if they lost their place at college.
Wilken said yes to the important parts of the deal.
The new plan came after two weeks. Before, the judge said the plan's rules were not good. He told the lawyers to talk again.
The plan wants to change sports rules. Now, teams can only give money to some players. For example, 85 players in football. The new plan says teams can have more players, like 105 in football. Teams can give money to all players, but it costs much. Some players who don't get money might not play.
Wilken felt sad for the players who lost their places on the team. About twelve players told their stories.
Wilken said change it or the plan is bad.
The lawyers said they did more. Schools can take back players they cut. This does not count against their number. Also, new schools can do this too.
The people in court think the changes are too much.
The lawyers said the players might not play for the team again.
The schools can choose their players. This is still true. The new rules will not hurt players who lose their place.
People who don't like the plan can tell the judge before she makes her final decision.
The NCAA and schools with many athletes do not have much time.
