The Alpine F1 team has a new driver. Franco Colapinto will drive for the next five races. Jack Doohan will not drive in these races.

Alpine said Flavio Briatore will do Oliver Oakes' work.

Colapinto will race with Pierre Gasly. They will start at the race in Italy. They will see how they do before the race in England in July.

Alpine is number nine in F1. The next race is from May 16 to 18 in Imola.

On Sunday, Doohan hit a car and then crashed.

Oakes said the driver will stay for the Miami race.

Doohan will be the team's extra driver again.

Jack Doohan is a driver in Formula 1. His father is Mick Doohan, a famous motorcycle racer. Jack drove his first F1 race at the end of last year. This year, he drives for Alpine. He took the place of Esteban Ocon, who left Alpine.

Colapinto drives for Alpine now. Before, he drove for Williams in 2024. He got five points in August.
