The Alpine team changed its driver. Franco Colapinto will drive for five races. Jack Doohan will not drive.

Alpine said Flavio Briatore will do Oliver Oakes's job now.

Colapinto will race with Pierre Gasly from the race in Italy.

Alpine is number nine in F1 after six races. The next race is May 16-18 in Imola.

On Sunday, at the Miami race, Doohan hit another car and then crashed.

Oakes said the new driver will race in Miami.

Doohan did not get points in his 7 races. His best place was 13th. He will now be the team's extra driver.

Jack Doohan's father was a famous motorcycle racer. Jack is now a Formula 1 driver. He drives for the Alpine team. He started this year in Australia. He drives instead of Esteban Ocon, who left the team.

Colapinto became a reserve driver for Alpine in January. He raced for Williams in 2024. He got five points. He took the place of Logan Sargeant in August.
