The Alpine team in Formula 1 has a new driver. Franco Colapinto will drive in five races. Jack Doohan will not drive.
Alpine said Flavio Briatore will do the work of Oliver Oakes.
Colapinto will race with Pierre Gasly from the race in Italy. They will check his results before the race in England in July.
Alpine is number nine in F1 teams after six races. The next race is from May 16 to 18 in Imola.
On Sunday, Doohan hit another car and then crashed.
Oakes said the new driver will race in Miami.
Doohan will be the team's reserve driver again.
Jack Doohan is the son of a famous motorbike racer. He raced in Formula 1 for the first time in 2024. This year, he drives for the Alpine team. He took the place of another driver, Esteban Ocon.
Colapinto is now a reserve driver for Alpine. Before, he drove for Williams in 2024. He got five points. He started in August after Logan Sargeant left.
