Chef David Chang has a new travel show on CNN.
It is called "The Detour with David Chang."
The show has six parts.
It starts on Sunday.
In each part, Chang drives across the US with a friend.
They eat at local restaurants.
The show's motto is: "All we've got is a destination.
Everything else is a detour."
Chang's friends on the show include director Cord Jefferson, comedian Cristela Alonzo and Milk Bar creator Christina Tosi.
He eats Filipino food in Las Vegas.
He eats Czech pastry in Texas.
He eats Haitian food in Miami.
Chang said he wanted to taste anything that looked interesting.
Sometimes the producers did not agree.
He said leaving your comfort zone reminds you that there is much more out there.
The show is about finding hidden gems with help from locals.
It is not about naming the best restaurants.
CNN executive Amy Entelis said Chang is the first chef to host a CNN original series since Anthony Bourdain.
Bourdain died in 2018.
Chang said he is paid to eat and spend time with friends.
He called it a dream job.
