A judge told the lawyer for Sean “Diddy” Combs to be careful about what he says in public. The judge said this because the trial for the singer has started. The judge thought it was very bad that the lawyer talked about the women lawyers working against Combs on a podcast and called them 'a six-pack of white women'.
A paper from a meeting on Tuesday showed what Judge Arun Subramanian and lawyer Mark Geragos talked about.
The judge said he will choose the rest of the jury on Friday. The trial will begin on Monday.
The trial in New York is happening because he was arrested in September. He said he did not do the bad things he is accused of, like being involved in illegal activities and sex trafficking. He has been in prison since then and cannot pay money to leave.
On Tuesday, the state lawyers asked the judge to tell Geragos to follow the local rules. These rules say what lawyers can and cannot say about the case during the trial. They said Geragos had not told the court he was working for the person in court. But it seemed like a jury helper and the defense team were talking with him.
Later, the judge asked if Geragos was helping Combs.
Geragos said he is the lawyer for the entertainer's mother and also for Combs. He said he talks to Combs often. The lawyer's daughter, Teny Geragos, is an important person on Combs' legal team.
When Geragos started to criticize the lawyers for the other side about the news before the trial, the judge stopped him and said: “Let’s just talk honestly.”
Then, the judge said that Mr Geragos had called the women lawyers for the other side a "six-pack of white women" on a recent online show.
Subramanian then asked Geragos if he knew he should not say that because he was a lawyer.
Geragos said: "When a black man is in court and feels like people are against him, that is something to notice."
The judge said his point again. He said, "I think this is not good. I think calling the lawyers for the state 'six white women' is very wrong."
Subramanian told Geragos that he would watch and listen to him. Geragos went to the jury selection often.
The judge announced that he would also become a listener of the podcast.

Before the court case, Combs' lawyers said that government agents made angry comments that were not true. They also said that because Combs was famous, many people made accusations that were false or very silly.
They said many lawsuits against Mr. Combs have caused a lot of media attention that could stop him from having a fair trial.
For three days, the judge has been asking people questions to find a fair jury. Combs has been watching from his seat.
On Friday, the lawyers can say "no" to some people from the group of possible jurors. They usually don't need to say why. This usually takes less than an hour and chooses the final group of 12 jurors and some extra people.
Police say Combs ran his companies like a criminal group. They say he used his workers and other people to help him do bad things, like taking people, starting fires, giving money to get what he wants, and forcing people into the sex trade.
Prosecutors say Combs used his fame and money to make young women do bad things, including parties where women were forced to have sex with men while Combs watched and filmed.
Combs' lawyers say the police are trying to control sex between adults who agree.
