KFC opened a new restaurant in McKinney, Texas, on Thursday.

People call it Open House.

It is a test lab in its home market.

The restaurant has two drive-thru lanes.

It has a mobile order pickup station.

KFC designed it so customers stay longer.

Customers order at a digital kiosk.

Then they sit and wait.

There is also a photo booth.

There is a counter selling branded merchandise.

KFC did not say how much will reach its U.S. restaurants.

KFC has 3,424 U.S. restaurants.

The new drinks are likely to spread more widely.

KFC already introduced a similar drink menu in the United Kingdom.

It also did this in Canada, Australia, Turkey and other markets.

The Texas idea and new flagships are in Dubai, Seoul and London.

They show KFC wants fast food to feel more like an experience.

KFC was the pioneer of fast-food fried chicken.

It started in 1930.

Now Yum Brands owns it.

It has more than 34,000 restaurants in over 150 countries.

Sales are strong internationally.

But U.S. sales have faltered.

Rivals like Chick-fil-A, Popeyes and Raising Cane's grew.

KFC's U.S. chicken-chain share fell from 20% in 2015 to 8% by 2025.
