U.S. stocks went up on Friday.
They got back much of what they lost during the week.
The S&P 500 rose 1%.
It was going to end a four-day losing streak.
That was its longest losing streak since June.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 575 points, or 1.1%.
The Nasdaq composite was 1.1% higher.
Oil prices went down.
Before that, they had jumped to their highest levels since May.
This happened because of the war with Iran.
Brent crude is the international standard.
It fell 2.3% to $105.12 a barrel.
Overnight it had come close to $110.
A report on Friday showed U.S. consumer prices were 3.4% higher last month than a year earlier.
That inflation number was close to what economists expected.
It was also close to what Wall Street was ready for.
The data made traders more sure that the Federal Reserve will raise its main interest rate next week.
The yield on the two-year Treasury rose to 4.61%.
It was 4.56% late Thursday.
The 10-year Treasury yield went down a little to 4.95%.
A first report from the University of Michigan said U.S. consumer sentiment is falling.
It is falling among both Democrats and Republicans.
Their expectations for inflation in the year ahead jumped to 4.6%.
Last month it was 4%.
That is the highest since June.
On Wall Street, Kroger rose 2.5%.
It reported a stronger quarterly profit than analysts expected.
ACV Auctions soared 44.5%.
Copart said it would pay $10.50 in cash per share.
Oracle jumped early, but then it faded.
Its stock was most recently down 1.3%.
