High oil prices caused the losses.
Brent crude hit $99.46 a barrel for a short time.
Then it settled at $97.92.
That is up 0.9%.
Prices went up from about $72 in early July.

Thursday's report is about wholesale prices.
It is expected to go up to 5.4%.

Friday's report is about consumer prices.

Both are above the Federal Reserve's 2% target.
These are the last reports before the Fed meets next week.
The Fed will talk about interest rates.
President Donald Trump wants lower rates.
