President Donald Trump has spent 20 months promising a strong economy.
On Friday, the jobs report was good.
But Trump was not happy.
He complained about high prices and interest rates.
He did not celebrate the 162,000 new jobs in August.
Some people say that strong job growth can make prices go up.
Trump does not agree.
He said, "Success does not cause inflation."
In Trump's second term, hiring has been slower.
Prices have been higher.
The economy grows about 2% each year.
That is slower than during the Biden years.
Trump says high interest rates are the problem.
He blames the government's debt for these rates.
He has said he will stop trade with other countries as a way to fight back.
The national debt is now over $40 trillion.
On Friday, the 10-year Treasury rate went up to 4.79%.
Trump's own policies have partly caused the high prices.
These policies include tariffs, which are taxes on goods from other countries.
He blames others for the inflation.
In midsummer, only 32% of people approved of his economic work.
In 2018, that number was 50%.
Economists say his promises do not match reality.
So people trust him less now.
Trump says lower interest rates could make the economy grow very fast.
He talked about growth of "12, 13, 14, 15%."
But lower rates could make prices go up more.
Officials in the White House say their plans are working.
They point to AI and tariffs as things that will help growth in the future.
But analysts say even strong growth may not fix the budget problem.
The government's deficit will be over $3 trillion a year in ten years.
