President Donald Trump has spent 20 months promising a big economic boom.
Friday brought good news about jobs.
But Trump was not happy.
He got 162,000 new jobs in August.
He did not celebrate this.
He talked about high prices and high interest rates.
He said, "Success does not cause inflation."
He does not agree that more jobs can make prices go up.
Trump is in his second term.
Now hiring is slower.
Prices are higher.
The economy grows about 2% each year.
That is slower than before, under President Biden.
Trump says high interest rates are the problem.
He blames the government debt.
He wants faster growth.
He has said he will stop trade with other countries.
That is his way to fight back.
The government debt is now over $40 trillion.
On Friday, the 10-year Treasury rate went up to 4.79%.
Trump's own tariffs helped make prices high.
He blames other people for this.
In midsummer, only 32% of people liked his economic work.
In 2018, that number was 50%.
Economists say his promises do not match the truth.
So people trust him less now.
Trump says lower interest rates can make the economy grow very fast.
He says growth can be "12, 13, 14, 15%."
But lower rates can make prices go up more.
White House officials say their plans work.
They point to AI and tariffs.
They say these will help growth later.
But analysts say strong growth may not fix the debt problem.
The debt will be over $3 trillion more each year in ten years.
