JetZero Inc., a company from California, plans to build a new factory in North Carolina to make its advanced passenger jet. This move is expected to create over 14,500 jobs in the region over the next ten years. The company intends to invest $4.7 billion in a factory at Greensboro's airport to produce its Z4 aircraft, which has a special blended-wing design that could make it up to 50% more fuel-efficient than standard airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in the project and made conditional agreements to buy planes. The project, which also includes a research facility for new materials, could receive more than $2.35 billion in state and local financial support by the 2060s. JetZero aims to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, producing 20 aircraft each month. The company will first focus on a commercial jetliner with about 250 seats and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
