JetZero Inc., a new company from California, plans to build a factory in North Carolina for its advanced passenger jet. This project is expected to create more than 14,500 jobs in the region over the next ten years. The company intends to invest $4.7 billion in this factory at Greensboro's airport to produce its Z4 aircraft. This aircraft has a special blended-wing design that could make it 50% more fuel-efficient than regular airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in this project and have agreed to buy some planes. The project also includes a research center for new materials, and it could receive over $2.35 billion in financial support from the state and local government by the 2060s. JetZero expects its planes to be in use by the early 2030s, with a goal of making 20 aircraft each month. The company will first focus on a commercial jet that can carry about 250 passengers and travel 5,000 nautical miles.
