JetZero Inc., a company from California, plans to build a new factory in North Carolina to make its advanced passenger jet. This could create more than 14,500 jobs in the region over the next ten years. The company intends to invest $4.7 billion in this factory at Greensboro's airport to produce its Z4 aircraft, which has a special blended-wing design. This design is expected to be 50% more fuel-efficient than typical airplanes. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in this project and made agreements to buy planes. The project also includes a research center for new materials and could receive over $2.35 billion in state and local financial support by the 2060s. JetZero aims to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, making 20 aircraft each month. The company will first focus on a commercial jet with about 250 seats that can travel 5,000 nautical miles.
