Salesforce is planning to buy Informatica, a company that uses AI to manage data online, for around $8 billion. Informatica's shareholders will receive $25 per share, which is about 11% more than the price last Friday. This purchase will significantly improve Salesforce's ability to manage data. Informatica was a private company from 2015 and then became public again in 2021. Both companies agree on helping businesses use data effectively in the age of AI. Salesforce wants to use Informatica's abilities, especially in areas like government, healthcare, and banking. Both companies' boards have approved the deal, and it is expected to be completed early in Salesforce's 2027 financial year. After the news, Salesforce's shares went up slightly, while Informatica's stock increased by 5.7%.
