In May, people in the US felt more positive about the economy after five months of feeling less hopeful. A report showed that the number went up to 98 from 85.7 in April. This happened because people were less worried about how President Trump's taxes on imported goods would affect the economy. However, people's hopes for their income, businesses, and jobs in the near future were still low, which might mean a recession is coming soon. The government said that 177,000 new jobs were created in April, which made people feel better. But, people were still worried about these taxes and prices going up. Even so, some people said they planned to spend more money on homes, cars, and holidays.
