The people who work at Starbucks are not happy. They do not like the new clothes they must wear. More people are not working today.
Many Starbucks workers in the U.S. are not working. They do not like the new clothes rules. The workers want to change this.
Starbucks has new rules for clothes. Now, workers need to wear black shirts. They can wear black, blue, or brown pants.
Before, workers could wear more dark clothes. Now, Starbucks wants green aprons to show. This will make people feel good in the shops.
But the workers' group said the rules should be talked about.
Paige works at Starbucks in Hanover. She says Starbucks is not good now. The workers are not happy. The customers wait a long time for coffee.
Summers and others also criticized the company for selling styles of Starbucks-branded clothing that employees no longer are allowed to wear to work on an internal website. Starbucks said it would give two free black T-shirts to each employee when it announced the new dress code.
On Wednesday, some workers at Starbucks did not work. They did this at many shops in the U.S. Starbucks said it was not a big problem for them.
Starbucks said: "We want the union to talk to us. Most of our stores are open."
People had different ideas about the clothes at Starbucks. Some said it is OK. Other shops also say what to wear. Some said Starbucks must make drinks better and help workers. Do not worry about clothes.
Maddie works at Starbucks in Seattle. She likes the new rules.
Mucklow said, “The new clothes at work were hard for some. But they help us work well and be ourselves.”
Starbucks workers want a union in the U.S. They started in 2021. Starbucks and the union talk, but have no deal. They will talk again in February.
The group said this week: "We said no to Starbucks about the new clothes."
