President Donald Trump spoke at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.

He defended his decision to start a war with Iran.

He said Iran is weak and desperate.

He said Iran is not strong.

He also said Iran waits for the U.S. midterm elections.

Then Iran wants to make a deal.

Trump said the election will not change his plan.

Most of Iran's delegation walked out during his speech.

At the U.N., Trump also attacked the news media.

He banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House.

That was over the weekend.

Those outlets have sued.

They want their access back.

Trump told a CNN reporter at the U.N. that CNN should not be there.

He said CNN should not cover him.

After his speech, Trump planned to meet with several leaders.

These included British Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

They included Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

They included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He was also set to meet Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodríguez.

He planned talks with Gulf Cooperation Council nations.

They would talk about the Iran war.

He also planned to attend an event.

The event is about the Shield of Americas initiative.

The war has hurt Republicans' hopes in the coming midterm elections.

Trump argued the world is better off under his leadership.

He said he does not let problems fester.

Oil prices remain high because of the war.

Trump said prices will fall once the war ends.

Qatar said mediators are trying to rebuild trust.

They want trust between the U.S. and Iran.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump is open to meeting Iran's president.

Trump was also set to sign a deal.

The deal is about a larger U.S. military presence in Greenland.
