Qatar's prime minister met Iranian officials in Tehran.
His name is Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
He talked about ways to stop the fighting.
He also talked about a plan with Oman.
The plan is to clear mines from the Strait of Hormuz.
He said countries must respect their neighbors.
He said ships must be free to move.
Pakistan said it is also working for peace.
The country's foreign ministry said a senior military official went to Tehran.
He went there recently.
He wanted to restart a June agreement.
The agreement is about reopening the strait.
The British military said an oil tanker was hit on Tuesday.
Something unknown hit it in the Strait of Hormuz.
The crew was safe.
There was no report of damage to the environment.
Iran said the new U.S. sanctions are not important.
Its foreign ministry spokesman criticized a U.S. coalition with Bahrain.
A top negotiator thanked China.
China said no to U.S. policies against Iran.
Tehran had earlier said it would answer hard to more sanctions.
In Gaza, three people died in Israeli strikes on Thursday.
Local health officials said this.
Israel's military said two strikes hit a Hamas militant.
The U.S. envoy for the ceasefire is Nickolay Mladenov.
He told Israel to stop its attacks.
Israel's deputy U.N. ambassador said Hamas must give up its weapons first.
Israel also sent away two Dutch diplomats from a Gaza ceasefire center.
The Netherlands said this was not needed.
