There was a big explosion at a chemical factory in Weifang, a city in eastern China. Five people died, and 19 people were hurt. Six people are still missing. The factory makes chemicals for farms and for medicine. The explosion broke windows in nearby buildings and sent a lot of smoke into the sky. Students at a nearby school said they smelled something strange after the explosion. More than 230 people went to help, and a group checked for bad air. This happened after a meeting about making factories safer. This shows that safety is still a problem in China. Last year, the factory was praised because it found and fixed more than 800 safety problems.
