Duterte is in prison. People say he did bad things when he was president. He wants to be mayor again.

In the Philippines, people with court problems can still try to be a leader if a judge has not said they did something wrong and they cannot ask another judge to look at their case.

People think Duterte will be mayor of Davao again. He was mayor there for many years before he was president. But he is in prison now, so it is hard to be mayor.

Many people in the Philippines could vote on Monday. They voted for new leaders in the government.

Voting finished at 7 in the evening. People who were still waiting could vote. We might know who won soon. The main results will come in a week.

People are watching the Senate race. This race is important for Sara Duterte. Some people say she did bad things. They say she wanted to hurt the President and took money. She says this is not true. She says her enemies are telling lies.

Sara Duterte wants to be president in 2028. But if the Senate says she did something wrong, she cannot be vice president or work for the government. To be okay, nine senators must say yes for her.

She said it is okay if the people she wanted to win do not win.

She said: "He will not be here. We think the vice mayor will be the mayor."

Marcos said in a video that people should vote.

Her father's friend, Apollo Quiboloy, is in prison. He wants to be a senator. People say he did bad things, so he is in prison. The police in America also want him for bad things.

Some people were hurt or died when people shot guns in different places during the vote.

Fights between groups stopped voting in some places. Some people said their names were not on the list. Others said the line was long and hot.

Reymark Marquez voted. He said the winners in 2022 did not do what they said. He said the next elections are about choosing good leaders.

A mother said, "I think this election is for the future of our children." She wants good leaders and no more bad people in power for her child.
