A judge in Missouri stopped the state on Tuesday.

The state cannot use its old voting areas in November.

This happened after the U.S. Supreme Court said no to an appeal.

The appeal came from Missouri's Republican attorney general.

The fight started when Missouri's top court made a decision.

It said new voting areas were not okay.

President Donald Trump supported these new areas.

The court said the new map was stopped by itself.

This is because citizens signed papers.

They wanted a statewide vote on the map.

The U.S. Supreme Court let that decision stay.

The new map was used in August.

The winners were already made official.

Then a judge made a new order.

His name is Stephen Clark.

He said Missouri must use the new map.

The old map is not allowed.

It is not clear which map will be used in November.

The new map changed one voting area.

It is the 5th Congressional District.

A Democratic leader has this area.

His name is Emanuel Cleaver.

The map moved parts of Kansas City.

It put them in other areas.

It also made Cleaver's area reach into farms.

Missouri's Republican secretary of state said no to the papers.

But the state's top court changed that.

Now people will vote on the map in November.

It is called Proposition A.
