Lindsay Clancy's lawyer said Thursday that she was very sick in her mind when she killed her three children.

This happened in their home in Massachusetts.

The lawyer, Kevin Reddington, blamed the medicines and the medical care she got.

He said she was a loving mother before her mental health got worse.

Prosecutors say Clancy did this on purpose.

They say she sent her husband out to do errands before she killed the children and tried to kill herself.

Prosecutor Jennifer Sprague said this case is not about the country's mental health system.

She called that argument a distraction.

Clancy has said she is not guilty because she was not responsible for her actions.

She did not speak in court.

Jurors will start their talks after the final arguments.

If she is found guilty of murder, she will go to prison for life with no chance of release.

If she is found not guilty, she could be sent to a state mental hospital.

Clancy is now 36.

Before the killings, she had asked many doctors for help.

She even went to a psychiatric hospital by herself.

Less than three weeks after she left, she killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy.

They were 5, 3, and 8 months old.

Then she jumped from a second-floor window.

She is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Her lawyer said she lived for her kids.

He showed jurors a "wish box" from her honeymoon.
