Donald Trump chose a new doctor. This doctor wrote a book. In the book, she said people can try new drugs for help. She also said that mushrooms helped her find love.
Dr. Casey Means says to think about psilocybin therapy. But psilocybin is not legal in the US. Some places like Oregon and Colorado say it is okay, but some cities in Oregon say no.
The doctor tells people how to be healthy. They give tips to stop sickness. For example, they said smoking is bad. This helped people in America.
Some people are famous, like Dr. Koop. He worked for President Reagan. Other people are not famous, and we don't remember them.
Mr. Means is new. Mr. Trump knows people. These people are famous. Mr. Trump chose Mr. Means because Mr. Kennedy said, "He is good." Mr. Trump does not know Mr. Means.
Means went to Stanford school. She lived in Oregon. She did not talk to us.
She wrote a book in 2024. The book is about good energy. Her brother, Calley Means, helped her. He works for Trump now.
The book talks about health. Casey Means says it is about "good energy". She has ideas to help people. These ideas help with stress and bad thoughts. This can help people be healthy.
You can try a new way to feel good. This way uses a thing in some mushrooms. She writes about it. It is a long note.
She said, "If you want to try, you can look at help with special mushrooms. They can make you feel good."
Some studies say that psychedelics can be good. But we do not know if the good things are bigger than the bad things. Psilocybin can make you see things for hours. This can be fun or scary. It can help with talking and can help people with problems. But we do not know much about how it works on people who are ok. It can make your heart go fast, make you sick, and give you a headache. Do not take it alone. Seeing things can make you do bad things.
Means said that some drugs are bad in the eyes of people. She said MDMA can help people who are sad after bad things. But a group said MDMA is not good as a help for sad people because the tests were not good and it can be bad.
Means talks about special plants in her book. She says she used mushrooms in January 2021. She heard a voice that said, "Get ready."
She said: "I felt like I was with many moms and babies. Psilocybin can open a door to a new world. In this world, I don't feel limited by my ideas and feelings."
In October, she wrote that she used special things to find love. She did this with people she knew. She said it is not for everyone.
This month, Means talked about health. She wants good food in schools. She wants labels on some foods. She wants to check if vaccines are safe. She wants fair rules. She wants to study old and natural medicines too.
Calley Means likes new drugs. He said they helped him a lot. He bought stocks in drug companies. He did not talk to us.
We do not know when Casey Means will talk to people about her new job. Trump wanted Means for the job. Some people did not like his first choice, Janette Nesheiwat. So, he picked Means.
