Kristi Noem said police are checking a message online. Some people think James Comey wrote it. They think it asks for violence against Donald Trump.

Comey put a photo of shells on Instagram. He said, "Nice shells on my walk on the beach." The shells looked like the numbers "86 47."

Some people who worked with Trump said Comey wanted Trump to be killed. Noem said the police are checking this and will act.

A popular dictionary says "86" can mean "throw out" or "refuse." It also says that some people use it to mean "kill," but this is new and not common.

The post is gone now. Comey then wrote, "I put a photo of shells I saw on the beach. I thought it was a message about politics. I did not know some people think these numbers mean violence."

Comey wrote something. Some people did not like it. Donald Trump Jr. said Comey wanted his father to die.

Kash Patel works for the FBI. He said he knows about the message. He is talking to the Secret Service about it.

James Blair works at the White House. He said this is a hard time because Trump is in the Middle East.

Blair said on X that Jim Comey wants bad people to hurt the President while he is in the Middle East.

Comey was the head of the FBI from 2013 to 2017. Trump fired him. The FBI was looking at Trump's link to Russia. Comey wrote a book about his job. It was called "A Higher Loyalty."
