Rory McIlroy questioned whether LIV Golf players have brought value to their league.

He spoke Wednesday at the BMW Championship.

He was answering a question about the value they would bring to the PGA Tour if they came back.

LIV Golf's future is not clear.

Its last event of the year is this week in Indianapolis.

Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund will stop paying for the league.

LIV CEO Scott O'Neil said players would own part of the league under a new plan.

He did not say who the main investor is or how much money they would put in.

The main players for LIV are Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.

Both have won two major championships.

Brooks Koepka came back to the PGA Tour this year with strong punishments.

The tour gave a similar deal to Rahm, DeChambeau, and Cameron Smith.

Scottie Scheffler said LIV has some very good players who would add value to the tour.

He said there should be some punishments for coming back.

McIlroy said the road back would be hard.

He said any future offer probably would not be as good as Koepka's.

LIV also has two lawsuits from vendors who want payment.
