In Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder decisively vanquished the Indiana Pacers with a score of 123-107, thereby leveling the series at one game apiece, a victory propelled by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's virtuoso performance of 34 points and supplemented by Alex Caruso's impactful 20-point contribution from the bench, marking the franchise's first Finals triumph since 2012.
Despite their initial triumph in Game 1, the Pacers failed to mount a sustained, credible challenge in Game 2; a fleeting resurgence in the third quarter proved ephemeral. Of particular note, the Pacers became the first team since the 2013 Miami Heat to lack a 20-point scorer in the first two games of the Finals, a dubious distinction compounded by Gilgeous-Alexander's record-breaking ascent to the top of the playoff scoring charts. The series now shifts to Indianapolis for Game 3, marking the city's first Finals appearance in a quarter-century.
