Shohei Ohtani, a well-known Japanese baseball player, has become the third player in Dodgers history to hit 20 home runs in the first 55 games of the season. This achievement puts Ohtani in the same group as Gil Hodges and Cody Bellinger. It's also the 64th time a player in the major leagues has done this in the same period, and the first since Pete Alonso in 2023. Ohtani, who has won the MVP award three times and leads the major leagues in home runs, recently hit a two-run home run in a game against the Cleveland Guardians. This is the fourth time this season that Ohtani has hit a home run to the opposite side. Interestingly, even when Ohtani doesn't hit the ball perfectly, it can still be a home run. He has also hit home runs in three games in a row twice this season. Ohtani, who has been chosen as an All-Star four times, has hit at least 12 home runs in a month three times since he joined the Dodgers.
