The Alpine F1 team has a new driver. Franco Colapinto will drive in the next five races. Jack Doohan will not drive.
Alpine said the change happened on Wednesday. Oliver Oakes left the day before. Flavio Briatore will help the team. He will do the work that Oliver Oakes did.
Colapinto will race with Pierre Gasly. They will start at the race in Italy.
Alpine is ninth in the F1 teams list. The next race is on May 16-18.
On Sunday, Doohan hit another car at the Miami race. Then he crashed on the next lap.
Oakes said the young driver will still drive in Miami.
Doohan will be the team's extra driver again.
Jack Doohan is a racing driver. His father was also a famous driver. Jack started driving for the Alpine team this year. He drove his first race for them in Australia. He is now a driver for Alpine.
Colapinto joined Alpine in January. He is a reserve driver. Before that, he raced for Williams in 2024. He got five points. He started racing for Williams in August, after Logan Sargeant left.
