The Alpine Formula 1 team has a new driver. His name is Franco Colapinto. He will drive in the next five races. Jack Doohan will not drive.

Alpine said Flavio Briatore will do Oliver Oakes' job now.

Colapinto will race with Pierre Gasly from the race in Italy. They will check their work before the race in the UK in July.

Alpine is ninth in F1. The next race is from May 16 to 18 in Imola.

On Sunday, Doohan hit another car and then crashed his car.

Oakes said the young driver from Australia will stay in the car.

Doohan did not get points in 7 races. His best place was 13th. Now he is the team's reserve driver again.

Jack Doohan is the son of a famous driver. He started racing in Formula 1 this year for Alpine.

Colapinto works for Alpine now. He is a reserve driver.
